New Post! Press!

So I know that I haven't been the best at posting things on my blog but I want to be better. Consider this one of my goals to start before I make New Years resolutions. So here it goes... my goal is to post something at least once a week. Easy right? I sure hope so! I really want to make sure that I am still being inspired by things and expressing how I am moved by them.

So I have a NEW LETTERPRESS!!!
Want the Scoop! Here it is...

New press: Made by Challenge, Model #GP15 (I kinda like it... sounds like an old airplane model)
New specks: Its BIG!
#1:Automatic Inking! Makes clean-up a snap! To those of you who experienced printing on the press I had before you will know that this is a major plus+!!!
#2:Different press operation- it's a little confusing but once I printed on it once or twice it was great!( it's like getting on a bike after a really long time.)
#3: Great workout!(This one is harder to crank the handle than my last press! I'm gonna get some huge muscles from printing.)

So I am pretty exited about my new press! She still needs a name... I'm thinking I might want to research names of old WWII air-force pilots nickname's for their planes... it might be fun!?!

The Story: You might be wondering why I sold my other press. There actually was no real reason for selling my old press. It worked great for what we used it for. I used it to print my projects when I took the Beginning Letterpress Course at the UofU. I did quite a few projects for friends, business cards, stationary, and wedding announcements. So when a friend of ours called and asked us if we were interested in selling our press we were a little hesitant. I really didn't want to because I really wanted to keep printing... and if we were to sell our press who knows how long it would take us to find another one! And not to mention my hubby had just had my form roller recovered for christmas and now my press was really in good shape!!! My hubby convinced me that we should at least see how much similar presses were going for...

More on this story later...
